If I were in a beauty pageant and asked what would make the world a better place I would skip right past world peace and answer "quantitative reasoning."
While that might not be the "it" answer on the beauty pageant circuit "quantitative reasoning" is definitely one of the things that would make the world a less stupid place.
I was contacted to speak about how I used quantitative reasoning when I worked in advertising. Most of my examples focused on the maddening lack of statistical reasoning or the exploitation of it in the industry.
