Naomi's Surprise Socks and Jamie's Red Hair

Naomi's Socks and Red Hair

In early May of 2004, I decided I needed to re-invent myself. In order to do so, I went to my local supermarket, Lund's, and bought Herbal Essences hair dye (I've seen what the Herbal Essences shampoo does in the commercial so I figured, why not?) Naomi, my college roommate and longtime friend, was my beautician and we spent an hour in my bathroom working on my reinvention. What you see in this picture is the result.

At the end of the month I was sort of over being reinvented so I bought the dye that most closely matched my old hair color and I had Naomi dye it back. But I didn't get my old hair color. It was still red, not just soooo red.

A note about Naomi's socks. Here is why she likes them. When her socked feet are in her shoes they just look like regular stripes. What she likes is that there is a bright color on the toe that nobody knows about.

There's a bus strike in Minneapolis. Commies. I walked to work one morning. 22 blocks. Nice for a day but not a long term solution. Not a long term solution because it's still so cold my snot freezes. And then it snowed. It was actually quite pretty and the temperature has risen but still it's March.

Last March on St. Patty's Day I was wearing a t-shirt.

Today I'm wearing pink pants. They are cute.

On Sunday, for the first time in...weeks? months? I was at home during the day in my apartment. It was nice to have time to clean, organize, read etc but I got restless quickly. I felt like there was something I wanted to be doing but I didn't know what that was. I went from one newspaper, to magazine, to book, to phone call, to channel to the next but at the end of the day something wasn't quite right.

Life is MN is blechity blech blech blech. I love my job but everything else is so ho hum dull. I don't even deserve a Jamiedrama blog. It should be Jamiefreezingcold.com

This font is terrible. Looks like what a bimbo would chose. How to fix it?

I'm just going to type my name here "Jamie Foehl" so that if you google me you'll see this. Then I'll test it. Oh la la! Science.
Almost a year has gone by since my last post and my life hasn't changed dramatically or anything but I do live in MN now so I no longer have the luxury of getting together with friends for lunch at Alice's Tea Cup to catch up so thought I might start posting here as a way to stay connected. Well, maybe moving to MN is a little dramatic.

Before I left for Minnesota I had a goodbye party at one of my favorite places Yaffa's. That's Yaffa in Tribeca, Todd. Here are me and some of the girls (and boy)

Caroline, Michelle, Laura, Me, Elspeth and Doug.
Goodbye Party - Girls
And some of the boys, Doug, Jeremy, Me, Todd and Alex.
Goodbye Party - Boys
That's not really red eye. Everyone was crying because they were going to miss me so much.

Who is Jamie? What is her drama? I am debating whether or not I should keep a blog. I know a few people who are Blogger-fiends and I lurk on their sites occasionally. The only issue is that the things anyone would be interested in reading about me or my dramatic? life are probably not the types of things that should be posted on the web. I'm also not much of a writer in any sort of professional capacity so there will be no clever Dawn Eden headlines. I am not writing a book nor do I have the desire to do so. Once upon a time I wrote a line about Ayn Rand in a New School advertisement that ended up all over the New York City subways.

I work in advertising. My official title is "Account Executive" and I love having my name and the word "executive" on a business card. Heck, I love having a business card. I've worked on all sorts of accounts including: Jesse Ventura (MN Gov), Rolling Rock, Dos Equis, Labatt Blue beer, Burger King, Scotts Miracle Gro and others.

Speaking of Burger King I just bought three of the Simpsons watches. Mmmmm Burgers. I'm hungry. I'm eating Jelly Belly Jelly Beans.

What now?

A few weeks before I graduated college I was faced with the decision of where to live. It was daunting so I made a list.

Years later I watched The Gilmore Girls series and was delighted that Rory used the pro/con list to make her decisions.

Yes, I'm digitizing my memories.
