Wah. Good Client meetings though!
I return to RDU around 11:30pm this night.
I've got a flight out to MSP at 8:35 in the morning.
I consider just sleeping in the airport.

Carrot Sticks
Ventured to Hillsborough this afternoon to plan "Family Fun Day" for the North Carolina Carleton Club with Bengt (newly appointed co-chair) and Kari.
I was especially charmed by Kari's daughter Alison who assisted in the planning and provided a list of ideas
1)water balloon basketball
2)treasure hunt
3)swimming
4)carrot sticks
5)fun
Cute.

A Buck And A Half
I learned that there's a movie theater down the street from my new (well, it's new to me) apartment that's very inexpensive. Folks would tell me "Yeah, it's a $1.50" I took that to mean that it's inexpensive, not necessarily $1.50. I was delighted when I got there to learn it was actually $1.50 to see a movie that's not in most theaters anymore, but maybe not on DVD just yet. That's perfect for the "Films I Meant To See" list.
Anyway, saw this sweet film
And then saw "Kickin' Grass" a bluegrass band that features the sister and brother in law of my good pal Barb. ""Bitches Ain't Shit" was playing in the car ride down and it was decided that Kickin' Grass should cover that song.

Steak and Eggs Hooray
I have to go to Denver for my job. Lately. A lot.
There are definitely highlights like products, and my most recent favorite, Steak and Eggs at Panzano (the restaurant at the hotel where we stay).
But, when I have to go to Denver and back in one day there is no hotel which means no products and no breakfast. Unless I land at 8:15 am and my first meeting isn't until 10:30.
This was the case today.
Mmmm, Steak and Eggs, hooray!

Happy Easter
This is the first year in a few years I knew it was Easter before I showed up at Target and got pissed off that it was closed and wasn't opening at noon.

Mommy! and Pizza Night #15
Mamalama in town.
I am pleased with myself that I can tell it is the flight from Connecticut coming through security before I see my mom. My Connecticutdar is fully functional.
It's Thursday.
We have pizza at Pucinella's.
I am counting this as Pizza Night #15, tho the tradition does seem to have been abandoned.
My mom is in town for few days and she'll need my car to get around while I'm at work. It's been a while since she drove a stick shift though so we practice in the parking lot. I'm not liking this feeling one bit. Hmmm, a little bit of insight into life as parent, I guess.
We watched "Seven Pounds." My mom is not a fan. Way too heavy.

My Jetta Went All Herbie on Me.
Anyone who has walked with me from my car knows that I'm a bit obsessive about making sure the car is locked. I look for reassurance by asking the question "Did it beep?" (it beeps when it locks).
So, when I left my car at a parking garage in Raleigh I was damn sure it was locked. But, what I didn't realize was that it was not braked.
I was walking to trivia from parking garage and then realized I had forgotten to bring a cooking pot that Diane asked me to return to our friend Mary that night. This was the second time that night I almost forgot the pot).
When I got to the parking garage, I noticed a Jetta, much like mine just hanging out in the driving lanes, perpendicular to traffic.
Holy Shit!
That's my Jetta.
It was a surreal realization. The Jetta had rolled into another car.
I was not thinking particularly clearly so I pushed my car away from the other car (I mean, I'm a strong girl) but then realized that getting in the car and just driving it was probably a better idea.
Amazingly, there was no damage to the other car. This was verified by an honest second party.
That stressed me out and I had a few extra drinks at trivia that night. And, we did not win.
Thank goodness for that pot.

While the rest of the state watched the game.
Diane and I gabbed and had Bella Monica.
Go Heels.
Not convinced I'm a fan?
I wore light blue shorts to the gym the next morning.

I got framed.
Full Framed, that is.
At the Durham Documentary Film Festival "Full Frame."
Screened (doesn't that sound high brow? I screened this film. I mean, really, I just watched it) a film called "The Cove." What's the difference between a film and a movie, by the way? Film sounds snobbier, for sure.
The review promised I would never think about seafood in the same way again.
Not really true for me, since I never liked it in the first place.
Anyway, the Getter of the Tickets was annoyed about having to pay a convenience charge and then having to print the tickets at home (that's not very convenient) so he arranged to get real will call tickets. Since my blog is pretty much my digital scrapbook, here's the ticket.

The Week and The Deck In Review
Monday
Early morning e-mail from boss's boss about me working on a deck.
Errrr, not a good day.
Tuesday
8:30 PM Meeting with boss and boss's boss to review deck.
At work until 11:30 PM revising deck.
Wednesday
Supposed to fly to Denver on the 2:00 flight. The 5:00 Flight. The 6:00 Flight. Flight is first thing Thursday morning. That means no steak and eggs.
Work on deck until 9:00 PM
PUB QUIZ -HOORAY FUN and we win (I was very very hard up for fun)
After pub quiz, on the phone with boss at 1:30 AM talking about all the other stuff that's gone haywire because we're all focusing on the deck.
Thursday
Wake-up at 4:30 am.
Fly to Denver.
Deck Presented.
Order steak for lunch with Clients.
Fly Back to RDU.
It is inhumane to fly me across the country and back in a day on 3 hours of sleep. I'm actually OK with "ambitious itineraries" but this one, not so much.
Friday
More catching up on everything that wasn't addressed because of the deck.
Go the gym. Undo all that work on a chocolate chip Waffle.
Work Week Over. Hoorayzzzzzzzzz.
